GFSI is the largest, most comprehensive food supply chain audit and certification scheme in the world. We consider GFSI to be an integral part of the Nestlé strategy for supplier approval.
Nestlé is a partner with many others in this important initiative which allows us to leverage 3rd party auditors to check that generic food safety programs like ISO 22000 or similar are in place and working well at our suppliers as a foundation.
This then allows Nestlé auditors and ingredient experts to spend less time looking at the generic systems and focus their time on risks that are specific to our products or processes or supporting suppliers in improving their activities.
